Reive, Kan clinch all-around gold; Junior Men’s National Team announced at Xfinity Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas (June 1, 2024) – Dante Reive (West Point, N.Y./United States Military Academy) and Maksim Kan (Muskego, Wis./Salto Gymnastics Center) earned all-around gold in their respective divisions as USA Gymnastics named a new Junior Men’s National Team at the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth.

Dante’s Peak

Reive won three titles on Saturday, claiming gold in the 17-year-old division all-around with a two-day total of 157.678 and gold on parallel bars (25.900) and horizontal bar (26.526). He also secured silver medals on floor exercise with a 27.826 and still rings with a 27.676. Reive rounded out his all-around score with scores of 27.350 on vault and 22.400 on pommel horse.

Justin Park (San Diego, Calif./Agility) was the all-around silver medalist with a 154.710, also winning silver on high bar with a 26.272. Nartey Brady (Los Ranchos, N.M./Eagle Ridge Gymnastics) earned all-around bronze with a combined 154.142 and took the rings title with a 27.854 and parallel bars silver with a 25.800. Athletes winning apparatus gold medals included Nathan Roman (Poway, Calif./Agility) on floor (27.976), Wyatt Reynolds (Simi Valley, Calif./Gymnastics Olympica USA) on pommel horse (26.669) and Chase Pappas (Franklin, Tenn./Harpeth School of Gymnastics) on vault (29.160).

Kan clears 16 division

Kan was the undisputed champion in the 16-year-old age group, winning five titles, including all-around gold with a 156.516 in a near eight-point lead. Kan claimed gold medals on floor (26.226), pommel horse (27.032), vault (27.350) and high bar (25.908). He also won parallel bars bronze with a 25.908 and was sixth on rings with a 24.400.

Hunter Simpson (Palmetto, Fla./EVO Gymnastics) won all-around silver with a 148.558 and also took rings silver with a 26.008. Troy Holman (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield Gymnastics Academy) completed the top three, winning all-around bronze with a 147.550 and also pommel horse bronze with a 24.500. Kiefer Hong (Tomball, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics) was the rings champion with a 26.150 and Christian Bart-Williams (Murphy, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) the parallel bars champion with a 25.800.
