Malone takes third career all-around title; Senior Men’s National Team named at Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas (June 1, 2024) – Brody Malone (Aragon, Ga. /EVO Gymnastics) may have missed a year, but he didn’t miss a beat Saturday, winning his third career all-around title at the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships.

The 2021 and 2022 U.S. champion, Malone missed 2023 with a catastrophic knee injury. On Saturday, he closed out his third-straight title in championships where he has competed, scoring 86.350 to finish with a two-day total of 172.300. Frederick Richard (Stoughton, Mass./University of Michigan) was second with 170.250 after scoring 85.900 on Day 2, and Khoi Young (Bowie, Md./Stanford University) moved up from fifth on Thursday to third on Saturday, scoring 86.150 to bring his two-day total to 169.550.

The 2022 World champion on high bar, Malone also won that apparatus Saturday with a total of 29.500 (14.900, 14.600), bringing his total career U.S. Championships gold medals to seven. Donnell Whittenburg (Baltimore, Md./Salto Gymnastics Center) also picked up his seventh U.S. gold on Saturday, winning his third title on vault (28.825; 14.350, 14.475) to go along with his four previous wins on still rings.

Yul Moldauer (Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics) won his third parallel bars title with 30.800 (15.400/15.400) to bring his career gold total to five. 2021 World champion Stephen Nedoroscik (Worcester, Mass./EVO Gymnastics) won his fourth pommel horse crown (30.000; 15.400, 14.600); Alex Diab (Hinsdale, Ill./EVO Gymnastics) claimed his third gold on rings (29.450; 14.800, 14.650); and Richard won his first title on floor (29.500; 14.600, 14.900) and second overall gold.
